Two Years in Raleigh!

I moved to Raleigh two years ago!! And what a wild and wonderful two years it’s been! Though I’d been planning weddings on the side for 1.5 years prior, I took my business (then #stephanieschollevents + now #stephanieshaulevents) full-time with my move and haven’t looked back since! I’ve planned and designed dozens of styled and editorial shoots, had every one published in blogs and magazines I’ve admired for years, added styling, mentoring, and coaching to my business, worked with dozens of incredible brides and grooms on their weddings (I have the best clients in the world!), brought several wonderful interns on board, have spoken at a few conferences and workshops, worked alongside incredibly talented vendors, became friends with and formed a community of inspiring creatives, and so very much more! As long as I can bring more beauty, joy, and love to the world, I know I’m doing my job right.

Oh, and I met, fell in love with, got engaged, and got married to the most amazing man in the world!! That is, hands down, the very best part 🙂 Rob, I love you with my whole heart! Planning and designing our own wedding was a dream, too.

It’s been a full two years, and I have endless things I’m deeply thankful for. Raleigh, I sure do love you, and it feels so good to know I’m doing the work the Lord has called me to do in the city that He’s purposefully placed me. Grateful doesn’t even begin to describe it!!

Happy June, y’all! I blinked and May was over; I simply do not know where the month went!! May was a wonderful, fun, & busy month filled with so much goodness. I planned lots of weddings, brought a few new clients on board, met with several of my sweet brides in person, brought an intern on board (more soon!!), met with my business groups, had two shoots featured, went on loads of coffee dates, pulled off an editorial shoot, planned + hosted the Sugar Euphoria storefront grand opening party, and had a few excellent mentoring + coaching sessions with clients. Whew! It was a full month of business fun, but it was also balanced out with plenty of personal life fun. I have been really good about turning off my emails on the weekends & not working during the weekend (which I know will change once my weddings kick off this month!). In May, I went to the farmer’s market, played tennis tons, learned disc golf, ate most meals outside, went on a bunch of picnics & to lots of cookouts, spent time at the pool, took a trip to the beach, roadtripped with Rob to Pennsylvania to meet his parents, visited stunning botanical gardens, had a blast with friends, and so much more. Yes… May was a full & fabulous month, indeed! And I simply cannot wait to see what June has in store!

Personal Goals

  1. Join a mixed doubles tennis team (this is proving hard than we thought!)
  2. Host a cookout at the pool
  3. Read two books
  4. Work on a super secret surprise project (cannot wait to share!)
  5. Go to a Durham Bulls game + explore Durham more
  6. Make ice cream from scratch
  7. Buy flowers for someone, just because
  8. Shag at North Hills on Thursdays (we’ve been practicing – ha!)
  9. Be outside as much as humanly possible (running, tennis, meals, walks, adventures)
  10. Learn something new

Business Goals

  1. Finish training my intern, introduce her to y’all, & lead her well
  2. Pull off a wonderful, beautiful, seamless wedding in Charlotte
  3. I have several out of town brides who all happen to be coming into town in June for day-long planning/vendor meetings… go into those organized & full of information
  4. Debut my 2017 Pricing Guide
  5. Update my business journal regularly
  6. Publish blog posts every week (hopefully twice a week!)
  7. Share on of my very favorite editorial shoots on one of my all-time favorite websites
  8. Follow up with all of my past coaching + mentoring clients to check in & encourage them

What about you? I’d love to hear your goals for the upcoming month & see what you’re up to! June is a favorite month of the year, and I’m eagerly anticipating all that it holds!

Hi, friends!! I’m attempting to get back on board with posting my monthly goals on here, and I’m excited to do so! I probably say this every month, but I’m not quite sure how it’s already May… this year is positively flying by! Springtime is my favorite, and these past few weeks have been absolutely wonderful in so many ways.

April was busy (isn’t every month somehow a busy one, though?) in the best way possible. Spring in North Carolina is the best, and the flowers, trees, and city has come alive lately. I could talk for days about how much I adore Springtime, but suffice it to say it makes me super happy. I even feel so much more energized and excited about my work… which is great, since wedding season is officially upon us! I’ve had eleven editorial + styled shoots in a three month window of time, which is a little ridiculous but a whole lot of fun. I could talk for a very long time about how much I love doing all of these shoots and how endlessly beneficial and wonderful they are. And I’m thrilled to have so many sure-to-be wonderful, beautiful, and meaningful weddings coming up this year, as well!

Personal Goals

  1. Get back into a routine with my prayer journal
  2. Take a beach trip
  3. Read three books
  4. Buy herbs (mint, cilantro, & basil!) + keep them alive
  5. Buy flowers for someone just because
  6. Make a Spring in Raleigh to-do list + start checking things off
  7. Play tennis weekly
  8. Learn how to shag (Thursday nights in North Hills!)
  9. Go to the farmer’s market + cook a meal from scratch
  10. Be outside as much as humanly possible (running, tennis, meals, walks, adventures)

Business Goals

  1. I need an intern/assistant for the summer – decide on that process & make it official
  2. Update the front page of my website with new images
  3. Mail all client gifts for new clients
  4. Update my pricing guide for 2017
  5. Write in this blog weekly
  6. Share those eleven editorial + styled shoots on my blog
  7. Throw a launch party for one of my favorite businesses
  8. Plan one more fabulous styled shoot

What about you? I’d love to hear your goals for the upcoming month & see what you’re up to! May is another one of my favorite months of the year, and I’m eagerly anticipating all that it holds!
