Bride Spotlight: Emily Morrel

I am so very excited to introduce to you our bride spotlight for today, Emily Morrel.  Emily and Philip will be tying the knot at Jones Chapel at Meredith College and St. Mary’s School in April, and it’s a wedding I simply cannot wait for!! Emily is a dear friend of mine (and twin of Sarah!), and seeing her meet, fall in love with, and prepare to marry Philip has been one of the biggest joys to witness! These two are absolutely meant for each other, and they truly bring out the very best in one another. I am wildly blessed by Emily’s friendship, constant encouragement, and unending support, and she has a true heart of gold. (She regularly texts me and even send snail mail to thank me for planning her wedding – so, so touching and special!) I know that these two were made for one another, and their relationship brings so much glory to the Lord. Their deep love for Christ, each other, their family and friends, everyone who comes into contact with them is so evident.

We’re now mere days away from Emily and Philip’s beautiful, romantic, meaningful, joyful wedding day, and the excitement is rapidly building! Here’s a fun interview with Emily about their relationship, their upcoming wedding, and more:

1. Tell us a little bit about you and your fiancé, Philip!

Philip and I met in the Summer of 2016 while working on a community service project through our church. We got to talking and quickly knew there was something really special about the other. From that first day, we both had a feeling we had met our future spouse! Fast forward a year and a half later, and we are best friends and so excited to marry each other in April!

2. What are you most excited for about your wedding day?

I love that we are getting married in the same chapel in which Philip’s parents got married.

3. What was your biggest inspiration for your wedding design?

I knew I wanted a big, organic flower bouquet and a dress that was unique and timeless. Everything else kind of got designed around those details.

4. Are you doing a first look or saving it for walking down the aisle?

As a wedding photographer myself, I decided to do a first look because they’re my favorite to photograph. I love first looks as I always get the most raw and genuine pictures from that time together. It will also give me and Philip a chance to debrief a little before walking down the aisle cause who wants to wait to see their bestie?!

5. Describe your style in one word.

Romantic boho -sorry that’s two 😉

6. What’s your favorite way to relax and unwind?

Helping my twin sis renovate her house/working on design projects/shopping at Hobby Lobby!

7. What is something you’re passionate about?

God! He is everything and the reason I’m getting married to Philip. I literally would have nothing without Him!

8. What has been the biggest surprise in the wedding planning process?

The number of details there are in a wedding.

9. What is your favorite part of your wedding design?

I love our unique bridesmaids dresses. We’re doing a floral print and coordinating the groomsmen with vintage floral ties!

10. What is your favorite thing about Philip?

His contagious warmth and joy and his ability to immediately make someone feel cared for and appreciated. He lights up a room, and I very much dislike being away from him.
