This courthouse elopement is everything! Jake + Heather captured the perfect, most genuine shots of this radiant bride & groom’s special day. So often, it’s all about the smallest meaningful details to showcase and celebrate a love story. From the flowering calligraphy vows to the daintiest blooms in the bout to the complementary silk ribbon to the fabulous shoes and a rose gold beauty of an engagement ring… these little details paint a much bigger picture and celebrate a love story’s significance!
We are so, so thrilled to have this joyful courthouse elopement featured on Once Wed! Pinch me!! This is a serious business dream come true, as Once Wed is one of my all-time favorite websites and sources of inspiration. I am overjoyed to see this vision brought to life and showcased on Once Wed! Editorial shoots are always so inspiring and fun to take part in, but having a real life couple show such a joyful, effortless, genuine, and fervent kind of love for each other makes it even better!
The vibrant bouquet (filled with rare Japanese ranunculus!) by the oh-so-amazing Kelly Perry paired with this gown and shoes by BHLDN were the perfect combination to showcase the simple beauty of true love. Small as they may seem, details really do matter… and sometimes less is more!
I also am enamored with the juxtaposition of the flowers and feminine details of the bride against the grey stone of the courthouse. I love the tones, the textures, and how all of these details play off one another.
Working alongside a group of insanely-talented vendors is never something I take for granted. I love editorial shoots so much because they’re more than just trying to create something pretty. It’s about inspiring others to live a deeper life of love, to focus on meaningful & unique details, to celebrate life + love + beauty + joy. Shoots bring together a plethora of talent, they build genuine community & collaborations, and they allow vendors to showcase their creativity and passions. I am so very blessed to continually work alongside the most amazing vendors who become friends & who continually push me and inspire me in my work. It really does take a village to bring a vision to life, and I’ve got the best village(s) around! And another massive thanks to Once Wed for sharing this joyful elopement!!

How sweet & romantic is this Springtime sweetheart table set amidst the azalea gardens?! I was so honored to design and style this shoot for Southern Weddings for Sasha Nicholas, seen over on the Southern Weddings blog! Hooray!! I was so honored & overjoyed that the ladies of Southern Weddings asked me to design and style this shoot for them. I don’t think it’ll ever get old to see your work featured on your favorite wedding blog, and I still pinch myself often!
It was so fun incorporating these raspberry monogram heirloom dinner plates into the design of the sweetheart table. I pulled in a textured cream linen, brushed gold flatware, gold rimmed glasses filled with pink lemonade, driftwood chargers, and peach napkins on the tabletop, along with gorgeous blush watercolor place cards (created by the wonderfully talented Alexa at Sage Paper Co.) and this absolutely stunning centerpiece from Alana at Serendipity Designs. AJ Dunlap was the photographer behind all of these dreamy images! One of my favorite parts of shoots is getting to work with such wonderful and talented wedding industry friends, and this shoot was no exception.

Back in December, right before Christmas, we brought our Winter Elegance editorial shoot to life at The Parlour at Manns Chapel! December was an incredibly busy month for me with a couple shoots and a huge wedding, but it was such a dream to bring this vision to life with some truly amazing people. There may have been absolutely torrential downpour for almost the entirety of the day, but we managed to pull together a pretty gorgeous shoot despite having to move it all indoors. Thankfully, there was a five minute window at the end of the day where we could move outside and snap a few frames before it got dark! The whole day was so calm, fun, and the creative energy was truly overflowing. I love when almost all of the talented vendors stick around throughout the day, despite the fact that it can be a very, very long day!, and it was so fun to watch the entire shoot unfold together.
Here are a few favorite sneak peeks that I can’t help but share! I think that’s one of the hardest parts about a styled shoot – not being able to share the entire gallery of images the second I receive them! Waiting for publication/being featured is definitely a test in patience!! I actually cried happy tears when I first received the gallery from Amber Hatley because they were THAT good. That’s one of the most fun and fulfilling parts of my job, for sure.

This was the most wonderful vendor team, for sure. It’s so hard to put into words just how wonderful everyone was and how much each person/business contributed to this editorial shoot. Let’s just say that I am SO, so grateful! Everyone blew me away with their talent, sweet hearts, and creative vision.
