Happy June, y’all! I blinked and May was over; I simply do not know where the month went!! May was a wonderful, fun, & busy month filled with so much goodness. I planned lots of weddings, brought a few new clients on board, met with several of my sweet brides in person, brought an intern on board (more soon!!), met with my business groups, had two shoots featured, went on loads of coffee dates, pulled off an editorial shoot, planned + hosted the Sugar Euphoria storefront grand opening party, and had a few excellent mentoring + coaching sessions with clients. Whew! It was a full month of business fun, but it was also balanced out with plenty of personal life fun. I have been really good about turning off my emails on the weekends & not working during the weekend (which I know will change once my weddings kick off this month!). In May, I went to the farmer’s market, played tennis tons, learned disc golf, ate most meals outside, went on a bunch of picnics & to lots of cookouts, spent time at the pool, took a trip to the beach, roadtripped with Rob to Pennsylvania to meet his parents, visited stunning botanical gardens, had a blast with friends, and so much more. Yes… May was a full & fabulous month, indeed! And I simply cannot wait to see what June has in store!

Happy February, friends! January seemed to fly by in the blink of an eye, for sure. It was a full month for me, and I’ve decided there’s never really an off-season when you run your own business! My sister & brother in law came down from NYC for a really fun weekend, I spent lots of time with friends, went on about 25 coffee dates/meetings, I officially added a few new services (styling, brand styling/shoots, and coaching) to Stephanie Scholl Events, I pulled off two big styled shoots (one a sunrise anniversary celebration in the snow & one a Valentine’s inspired bridal shower soiree!), and I was invited to participate in the Carolina Inn Bridal Showcase! It was a busy January, especially in regards to business things, but I also managed to enjoy the month… especially when Raleigh was snowed in for two days!
I’m excited about the arrival of February and what this month has in store… I have a beach trip planned with my Making Things Happen power group, and I’m also thinking about a trip up north, too! And can we talk about the Panthers + the Super Bowl for a second?! So excited!! I have a couple styled shoots coming up this month, will hopefully confirm a few more brides for 2016 AND 2017, and want to fine-tune and streamline some aspects of my business, too!
February 2016 Goals
Start volunteering (at my church’s nursery & in a local school) – this is SO important to me, and I put off beginning for way too many months after moving here
Pull of a couple exciting styled shoots
Work on taxes with my accountant (dreading this)
Say no to some things so I can say yes to better things!
Play tennis and run often (and put these things on my calendar)
Become a North Carolinian (I’ve also put this off for too long!)
Enjoy a trip to Emerald Isle and possibly NYC and/or DC!
Continue using my prayer journal regularly
Read for fun!
Confirm at least three more brides for 2016 + 2017
Think of a selfless or giving way to celebrate my birthday
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” – Proverbs 3:5-6
What about you?! I would love to hear what you’re focusing on this month and how I can encourage you, too!
Happy 2016, friends! I’m not quite sure where 2015 went, but the new year is definitely here! I adore the sense of possibility and newness that a new year brings. I hope you’re excited to kick off another year – I know I’m excited about what’s in store, and I can’t wait to see where God takes me (and you!) throughout the upcoming days, months, and year!
I have always loved making goals (daily, monthly, yearly, etc), though many of them are habits and practices I’ve tried to maintain throughout my life. I’ve been sharing my yearly and monthly goals for several years now on this blog! When I read back on my goals for 2015and think about my goals for 2016, many of my goals carry across from one year to the next. At their core, so many of my goals are habits I try to tend to daily, and those don’t change much from year to year. A lot of the details (and my business goals) have certainly changed and evolved, but it’s fun to see how my overarching personal goals are rather similar to last year!
More Jesus; less me
Love family & friends more intentionally (especially since so many live far away!)
Have a better work/life balance
Continue to expand Stephanie Scholl Events (oh I have big goals for this!!)
Continuously be learning, attend a workshop or conference, learn something new, invest in myself & my business
Travel someplace new & travel abroad (I hope!)
Write & send even more handwritten letters to connect with family & friends better
Cook at home more, try new healthy recipes, and host more dinner parties
Limit social media browsing
Foster genuine community in the area
Volunteer regularly – at church and in the community
Be a better steward of my money – spend less on myself, give more generously, and save more
Continue to grow in my faith: study/read my Bible + Jesus Calling daily; write in my gratitude journal + prayer journal daily; join a small group in Raleigh
Read 26 books (including more business books, faith books, non-fiction, and classics)
Be more intentional about scheduling time to exercise regularly, ride my bike, play tennis, run, and get outside frequently
Laugh more, find joy in everything, be deeply grateful, & love deeper
My verse for the year is:
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” – Philippians 3:14
What about you? If you’ve written down your goals for the new year, I would love to check them out & cheer you on! What are you most excited about for 2016?
