Even though my birthday was last week, I had an amazing week celebrating with friends & family! I absolutely loved partaking in & hearing inspiring birthday acts of kindness. My amazing sister (& very best friend!), Bridgette, came to visit me in D.C. for the weekend, which was honestly an incredible birthday present itself. I loved that she was able to come visit me and see my friends again (and meet some of my newer friends!). Plus, she schlepped a million birthday goodies, treats, decor, and presents with her – yep, she’s the best!

My friends and I spent the day out in Middleburg, Virginia (gorgeous horse country near the mountains!) at Cana Winery, one of my favorites. We definitely enjoyed our private wine tasting, copious bottles of wine (the rose was my favorite), and amazing food – I think all of my favorite picnic items were there! I am so thankful for all of these incredible ladies & their friendship, and there’s not much better than spending the day in this way. So fun!

After many, many hours at the winery & walking through Middleburg, we headed back to our house for a BYOT (bring your own toppings!) pizza party and a game night. We enjoyed so much more amazing food, played silly games & laughed endlessly, and celebrated with birthday cupcakes. It was such a fun, special birthday!

Bridgette and I enjoyed a long, leisurely lunch at Lauriol Plaza, far and away our favorite place to enjoy Mexican & margs together. I loved having her in town!

And on my actual birthday (which was a Monday.. not so exciting!), my friends and I got back together again to enjoy a long dinner at another favorite restaurant, Founding Farmers. Our cocktails and the food were both delicious, and once again, it was so special to be surrounded by such loving, encouraging, and fun women. I am definitely blessed!! I even managed to get in some late night phone calls with my parents, sister, and all of my grandparents, which made the day even better. Cheers to 28!!
