Christmas Break

January 14, 2014 ~ Stephanie Shaul ~ Leave a comment

I returned last week from two amazing weeks at home for Christmas break, and it was just what I needed. I'm grateful that I was able to have that much time off of work to go home and spend quality time with my family and friends. The time flies by all too quickly, but believe … Continue reading Christmas Break

These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things

December 5, 2013 ~ Stephanie Shaul ~ 2 Comments

One of my very best friends, Allie, is moving back to North Carolina in just a couple days (don't even get me started on how much I'm going to miss her in DC!), and I jumped at the chance to throw her one last hurrah - her going-away party with her nearest and dearest DC … Continue reading These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things

November 11, 2013 ~ Stephanie Shaul ~ Leave a comment

I've never hosted Thanksgiving myself, but I can't wait til the day I have my own home and can invite family & friends over for a Thanksgiving feast, Stephanie-style. I have always loved holiday decor, tablescapes, and styling a meal/party! If I were hosting Thanksgiving dinner, here are some fun picks I'd incorporate... this gorgeous … Continue reading Thanksgiving Decor

March is here, which means Springtime is officially on its way! I get geekily excited about Spring and all that it entails: sunshine and warmth, buds and blooms bursting to life, picnics and eating outside, wedding season, outdoor adventures and long walks, sundresses and sandals, and the general cheeriness of life. This sweetheart table is the epitome of Spring to me, and I wouldn't have it any other way!
This combo of a bold antique rug, awesome historic architectural details, and sunlight flooding the room is perfection! Interior design and architecture are incredibly inspiring to me and influence my own design so much.
I long to choose joy every moment of my day and of my life, and that’s one of my biggest desires and hopes in life. I want to honor God with my outlook and perspective; with my actions and words; with my love, grace, and joy to myself, to Him, and to others. I believe that joy is something so much deeper and more lasting than fleeting happiness, and it’s also an action that you are called to seek and to choose every day. Joy, to me, has so much to do with my faith and with the hope that comes from the unconditional and never-ending love of Christ. Joy and gratitude go hand in hand, I deeply believe, and when you have a deep and profound sense of gratitude, you can find joy in countless things, big and small. When you find joy, gratitude simply overflows from that joy.
One of my favorite meaningful mementos and collections! For several years, I’ve saved all of our champagne corks from special celebratory occasions. I write the event/cause for celebration and the date on the champagne cork, and then they’re collected and displayed.
Determined to become a gardener! I’m so excited about my @floretflower seeds - sweet pea and poppies! - and can’t wait to see the magnificent beauty that (hopefully) grows from these tiny seeds.
Toasting to the start of the weekend with some bubbly! I’m particularly excited for the next couple days, and I hope you are, too! Weekends have looked so different this winter, but there are still so many ways to embrace this season and find joy in the little things.
