Target Fall Finds

Target fall

While I am still firmly in team summer, and the temperatures are constantly near 100 degrees here in Raleigh, I have somewhat started to think about my fall wardrobe and the transitioning seasons a little bit. I’m team sundresses and sandals as long as humanly possible, but with September fast approaching, there were several cute items from Target that caught my eye this week. I mentioned this last year and earlier this year, but I have been incredibly impressed by Target in the last two years for a myriad of reasons.

As someone who has bordered between regular size clothing and plus size clothing for all of her adult life (though almost entirely plus size these days), I have rarely ever been able to find clothes in my size in stores (and clothes that weren’t matronly, frumpy, outdated, or for women far older than my age). I don’t really mind shopping online, especially these days, but so often, plus size clothing was far behind in terms of style and trends – like years behind. I loved so much of the clothing and the outfits that I would see in normal/average sizes but could rarely find the same thing in my size (thank goodness for Old Navy’s generous XXL for so many years!). I could write a whole lot more about this, but I’ll try to keep it concise.

I love that Target’s clothing now has identical styles and designs in every size, from an XS to a 4X. I love that my style and my preferences don’t have to be restricted simply because of my size. There’s no price difference (I love that I don’t have to pay significantly more for my size, quite honestly), the styles of dresses and shirts (and everything else) that I love is easily and readily available in my size, the fashion and outfits that other bloggers or influencers share is also, miraculously, in my size and not just in a small, and the prices are still hard to beat. It’s opened up a whole new world for me, it seems. In the grand scheme of things, of course, this is just a small thing that I have noticed and appreciate, from Target in particular, but it’s something worth mentioning. I love the inclusivity – of sizes, of ethnicities and cultures, of diversity. I love that, while not everything that a woman in a size XS shares will look great on me… at least I have the opportunity to try that on in my size and decide if I like it or not. I love that I can find a plethora of clothing that I love and fashion that is current, fresh, and stylish. There are, for essentially the first time in my life, too many options for me to pick from. Target clothing isn’t necessarily going to last me forever, and the pieces I choose are not long term investments nor supporting a local maker nor a small business, but for my size and my current budget, Target has quickly become a really, really wonderful option for clothing. My clothing budget is purposefully pretty small, as I already have ample clothing, try to be content for what I have, and try hard not to buy new things for the sake of buying new things or with the wrong motivations. And I love that I don’t break the bank and can save for other, more important things.

All this to say… Target has some really beautiful items out right now that are perfect for fall and the changing seasons. I’ve linked a few of my favorites (several of which that I’ve purchased and love!), in case you’re looking to add one or two to your wardrobe this season. I love all of these here, but I really love the blue & white floral shirt, the long sleeve cream collared sweater, the olive peplum top, the purple floral dress, and the the dark green/teal floral dress. I am thrilled that all of these shirts and dresses are available in an XS or a 4X or anywhere in between – and that every item I’ve linked is between $20 – $33. I hope you can rock an outfit you love with confidence, kindness, and a little extra pep in your step as we head into fall!
