Our cocktail hour took place inside the main historic Merrimon Wynne House, in between our ceremony on the lawn and our reception inside the Carriage House. We invited guests to join for drinks, passed hors d’oeuvres, and a fruit and cheese display. We opened up the two gorgeous porches, had salmon pink cocktail tables scattered throughout, invited guests to sign our guestbook, and celebrated in our new marriage! It was a magical early evening celebration with our nearest and dearest.
Our escort display on this grand, ornate mirror was all that I’ve ever wanted and more – and I simply loved making this. Calligraphy, deckled edges, gold wax seals, peach ribbon, and simplicity – perfect in every way, especially since this mirror inside the historic Merrimon Wynne made such a statement!
Our wedding guest book was so thoughtfully planned, and it is incredibly meaningful and special to us! We had our dear friend (and wedding photographer!) Bobby of IV Leather Goods create a custom leather Bible cover for us in the softest grey leather. It was inscribed in beautiful calligraphy with our married names and wedding date, and it’s a forever treasure to us! I adhered tags to silk ribbons in our wedding colors (dusty French blue, peach, and white), and we asked our beloved guests to write their favorite Bible verse, a prayer or blessing for our marriage, or a sweet note to us as our guest book. Our new Shaul family Bible is filled with favorite verses, the most special notes, and prayers for our marriage from our most loved ones. We’re unbelievably thankful for these notes, and I love reading through them again… it brings me right back to our wedding day and fills me with overwhelming gratitude for the love we are surrounded by!

The Merrimon Wynne boasts three original mantles, and they’re the perfect spot for blue taper candles, sprigs of greenery, and family wedding photos. Legacy is one of the most important aspects of life, and we wanted to honor and remember the strong marriages in our famililes that have come before us and set a beautiful example for us.
