Spring is almost upon us! I think I can get a resounding “amen” from just about everyone I know, am I right?! And with the changing of the season, that means it time for my favorite seasonal “to do” posts. Spring is definitely one of the best times of the year, especially after such a long, cold, and snowy winter. The first buds poking through the ground, the birds chirping, longer and longer days, wearing my Jacks and sundresses again, eating outdoors, Easter, sunshine and warmth, and, of course, partaking in these fun events and activities in and around Washington, DC…
- see a sunrise at the Cherry Blossoms
- go on a picnic at the Cherry Blossoms (a longstanding tradition!)
- attend the magnificent Cherry Blossom Kite Festival
- paddle boat on the Tidal Basin
- kayak on the Potomac River
- Dupont Art Galleries for First Friday
- see the gorgeous columns at the U.S. National Arboretum
- bocce + picnic on the Mall
- Passport DC – tours of the embassies
- go to the Farmer’s Market often & cook meals from scratch
- celebrate Easter at home with my family
- go on a long hike at Great Falls National Park
- explore my favorite Eastern Market
- play tennis, bike, and run as much as possible
- plant herbs & keep them alive
- Nats baseball game
- go to a new vineyard or brewery
- enjoy all the flowers blossoming
