Fall is one of my favorite seasons to dress for… the stifling humidity of summer in the South is over, and the bracing cold of winter hasn’t yet descended. I love layering, as I feel much more put together and stylish with multifaceted layers. Layers are the perfect way to add texture, depth, and interest to an outfit, and they keep you warmer, which is perfect when the mornings are cool. Fall clothes are a refreshing change of pace after summertime, and I love the thick knits, coziness, trends of the new season, and richer colors.
Instead of just buying new clothes for the sake of buying new clothes, I want to be intentional about the new clothing that I select for the season. I don’t need anything new clothes (I’m continually donating clothes, instead!), but it’s fun to spend a little here and there to spruce up this season’s wardrobe, refresh my pieces, have fun with the trends, and invest in a couple quality Fall clothes. I primarily wear business clothes during the week (not quite suit, but not quite business casual), so I tend to buy more work-appropriate, corporate world clothing… and a few fun weekend-wear clothes, of course. I like cute blouses that can be worn with tights and a pencil skirt and heels during the work week but are versatile enough to wear with skinny jeans and boots during weekend adventures.
On my Fall wish list:
- a tartan scarf (in navy and hunter)
- tall cognac classic leather boots
- something with a leather accent
- a navy gingham shirt
- a big cozy cream sweater with a unique accent/touch to it
Here are some looks that I’m loving and being inspired by this Fall:
I love fall as well. My favorite time of year to let your clothes hug you for warmth.
Sincerely,
M.

Cute! I never mastered (in any sense of the word) the layered styling look… my loss…
