Kayaking the Potomac

I love DC. It’s such a fun, active city to live in, and there is so much to do, see, and eat. And there’s such cool history and museums.. and outdoor activities! I could go on and on about all there is to do in the nation’s capital.

One of my favorite things is kayaking on the Potomac River! I’ve been a few times, and it’s such a unique, peaceful way to see the city.

It’s easy to rent kayaks by the hour (and for one or two people in a kayak) under the Key Bridge. You should also check out Georgetown while getting to the boathouse – there’s so much to see and do! I went this past Spring again with my friends Allison, Kathryn, and Lindsey, and we had such a fun time kayaking together. It’s an inexpensive (we each spent about $18 for two hours of kayaking), awesome view of the city with a good little arm workout!

All of the kayaks are so colorful!

Here we are! Post-kayak.

With the Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument in the background.

Such a unique vantage point to see Watergate & The Kennedy Center.

Check out the Key Bridge Boathouse!
