Dappled sunlight, dreamy Spanish moss, the bride and groom decked out in ethereal shades of grey…this is what elopement dreams are made of! And shouldn’t every elopement happen in the exact location on Bald Head Island where you were engaged?! I think yes! Despite the incredible wind, I love how soft and simple this entire shoot is. There’s something so magical about the pull of the ocean, and this marvelous bride and groom sure felt it during their special day.
We are so, so honored to have this elegant, coastal elopement featured on Magnolia Rouge! Go check out their post… it’s one of the best sites for wedding inspiration, hand’s down.
I don’t know about you, but I can feel the love between these two! It’s the happiest kind of love, too. I’d go right back to spending a day in Bald Head Island with them in a heartbeat!
Coastal, oyster tabletop inspiration for you! I love all the organic elements intertwined with the moody ocean colors here. We drew our inspiration from nature: an oyster shell and the natural setting of the ocean and Bald Head Island. The oyster, with its darker, moodier colors, is a unique way to have a nautical or beach-inspired feel and brings sophistication and elegance to the coast. We wanted to pull in plenty of blues and greys, as well as some creams and pops of greenery.
The gentle coastline, dripping Spanish moss, dappled sunlight, and Old Baldy Lighthouse created the perfect backdrop for this elopement, drawing all of the elements together into a unified, romantic look. A billowing grey wedding dress and lush, contrasting trailing ribbons played off of the colors and the breezes of the ocean beautifully and added dimension and movement.
There’s something to be said about simple yet exquisite cakes, especially one like this – perfect for a coastal elopement! I absolutely love the oyster shell accents on this single tier cake by Sugar Euphoria.
This breathtaking sapphire engagement ring was the perfect addition to this beachy elopement. I used a strand of pearls and oyster shells to mimic the design of this Bald Head Island shoot and the ring complements it all so exquisitely!

While we love big weddings filled with an abundance of family, friends, and over-the-top details, sometimes an elopement is the best option for a couple in love and excited to get married! So excited and thankful for the feature of this insanely beautiful shoot on Magnolia Rouge!
