It’s about time that I share this beautiful wedding with y’all! Beth Anne and Chris were married in May in beautiful Charlottesville, Virginia at Wolf Trap Farm. It was a beautiful, sunny late Spring day, and the setting couldn’t have been more idyllic & picturesque. Their ceremony took place overlooking a stunning panoramic vista of the Blue Ridge mountains, horses grazed nearby, and lanterns swung from the towering oak trees as Beth Anne and Chris said their vows to one another. The wedding guests were a fun mix of Southern + Japanese, and I loved working with this bride and groom to incorporate meaningful details that spoke to both of these heritages throughout the wedding design. They had sake toasts (instead of champagne) and origami paper cranes (with my calligraphy!) as place cards, and there were hundreds of glass drink bottles filled with cheerful flowers as a nod to Beth Anne’s late father, who collected all of these glass bottles. There were so many special touches and personalized details sprinkled all throughout the wedding weekend, and it was a true testament to Beth Anne, Chris, their families, their cultures, and their life together. This is one awesome couple, and their entire wedding day was filled with so much love.
I loved seeing so much joy and excitement on their faces, and they were a dream to work with from start to finish. Beth Anne and Chris are so kind, gracious, thoughtful, and fun, and it was a true joy to be their wedding planner, calligrapher, and florist! I am forever thankful to Beth Anne for her trust in me: it was the first wedding where I did all of the flowers, from start to finish. I loved the freedom she gave me to create all of the bouquets, bouts, centerpieces, and floral decor, and it was amazing bringing it all to life. The yellow and white roses, along with the succulents, were the perfect combination to evoke the Southern chic feel that the bride was going for. One of my favorite moments from the wedding weekend was giving Beth Anne her bridal bouquet for the first time and seeing the sheer excitement + happiness in her eyes (and in her voice) when she saw it. I was so honored to do the calligraphy and floral arrangements for their wedding!
