Conferences for Creatives

There are so many incredible workshops, conferences, and gatherings out there for creatives and for the wedding industry! Here is a brief list of the top conferences for creatives that I’ve had my eye on for some time now.. it would be an absolute dream to attend any or all of these amazing, inspiring conferences.

Making Things Happen

This dream of a conference (in Chapel Hill, no less!) is led by Lara Casey, Emily Ley, and Gina Zeidler (along with Nancy Ray, Rhi Bosse, and Amber Housley) – a powerhouse team of the most inspiring, driven, passionate, and knowledgeable women I can think of. What a privilege it would be to meet them, learn from them, and meet so many other women in similar fields to myself!

From the Making Things Happen website:

“This two-day conference is designed to fire you up and get you on a powerful path to making big things happen in life and in business. Together, we’ll dig deep, establish priorities, set goals and discover how to make what matters happen. After uncovering a vision for what you want to make happen on Day 1, we’ll dive into the core principles of taking action on that vision on Day 2 to really help you make what matters MOST happen.

Just a few of the topics covered: conquering fear, discovering your strengths, eliminating distractions, making bold leaps in life and in turn in business, how your environment and the people around you affect you, living your ideal day, authenticity and action. Making Things Happen was founded on the idea that you have the choice to change your life.”

The School of Styling

The School of Styling

The School of Styling, designed by Kaitlin Holland, seems so up my alley! It’s coming up in about a month in Raleigh, North Carolina. Kaitlin will be putting on a top-notch affair for creatives to learn the ins and outs of styling and design with other creative women – tauht by some of the best in the business. Many of the breakout sessions look so helpful and filled with knowledge & expertise. It’s going to be a stunning event, I’m sure!

Here is the mission of The School of Styling, from the website:

“The School of Styling is a workshop for creative individuals looking to deepen their knowledge of business and gain experience styling, no matter their profession. Our goal is to teach and equip new and established wedding and event stylists, interior designers, photographers, bloggers, prop stylists, and business owners how to design and style a space, event, or photo shoot creatively. We believe in the power of community and we have strategically created this workshop to foster creative and encouraging relationships.”

Inspired 2014 | Amber Housley Inspired

Amber Housley Inspired

Amber Housley is one of the very best in the wedding business, and it’d be a dream to learn from her in such an intimate setting! There is so much to be said from surrounding yourself with and learning from other wedding creatives and female entrepreneurs, and this gathering looks like the perfect opportunity to make that dream a reality, especially as a small business owner.

From the Inspired website:

“With learning sessions that nurture not only your business but your personal and creative soul too, Inspired offers a one of a kind opportunity to rest & rejuvenate… Inspired is for creative women who currently have a creative business. As a baseline, we recommend you at least have a basic understanding of running a small business or have been in business for at least one year to register. Of course, we welcome all creative businesses! Everyone is sure to go home with a heaping truck-load of applicable information and action items no matter where you are in your business journey.”

Trouvaille Workshop

I don’t think you could dream up a more breathtaking, marvelous, swoon-worthy workshop, hosted and designed by none other than Rhi Bosse of Hey Gorgeous Events. I would love to learn more about floral design & incorporate that into my wedding planning business, and this is the perfect setting to do so. All of the hands-on experience and stunning blooms would be so incredible to partake in.

The Trouvaille Workshop experience:

“Trouvaille is for creative, entrepreneurial and driven women who operate or want to own multi-faceted wedding planning businesses. The more services your creative business encompasses, the better! The more you want to learn, grow and extend your design and back-end business knowledge, the better. Trouvaille is a truly hands on and comprehensive workshop experience designed to inspire and encourage growth across all realms of any planning and design business. Attendees will learn necessary skills and insight within a safe, high-energy and totally straight up awesome environment.”

Now, who wants to pay my way?! I’m definitely saving up for these dream conferences and workshops, and I can’t wait to one day attend at least one of them!

  1. Steph! These look awesome! I can’t pay your way, but if you swing one of the NC conferences, I’d love to tag along. I am looking for some mentorship in these areas as well. Good luck!
