Five on Friday | 4

ONE

Happy, happy Friday! As usual, I’m eternally grateful for Fridays. Plus, the Opening Ceremony for the Olympics is tonight, and I can’t wait to have some friends over to watch it. My fabulous sister is also visiting me this weekend! She’s my very favorite person in the world, and I’m so looking forward to our weekend adventures in DC. Our priority is visiting Bao Bao, the adorable baby panda at the National Zoo – it’s adorable how much Bridgette loves this baby panda! We have Georgetown Cupcakes pre-ordered, of course. We are going to explore Georgetown and Old Town Alexandria while she’s here, including George Washington’s Masonic Temple. Hopefully the expected snow won’t put too much of a damper on our adventures!

TWO

Y’all, I ordered business cards this week! ..cue happy dance!.. It was a little surreal and oh so exciting to place this order, and I’m so happy that I did. More info – and a picture – to come very soon!

THREE

I’ve eaten some incredible, mouth-watering meals in the last week, so I figured I’d share in case you need any recommendations! Last weekend, I went to lunch at Virtue Feed & Grain in Old Town Alexandria. I’d heard good things, and I was blown away – the decor and ambiance were spot on, and I couldn’t stop gaping at all of the details and furniture. The menu was equally impressive, and I thoroughly enjoyed a grilled chicken panini with melted cheese and apples + a side of roasted brussel sprouts. I love it so much I’m taking Bridgette there again this weekend!

For dinner one evening this week, I went back to Lincoln with a few wonderful friends. I had a glass of Malbec, which was perfect on a freezing night. The four of us shared several plates, since all of their food is small plates & intended for sharing. We feasted on Farmhouse Mac & Cheese, my very favorite roasted brussel sprouts, butternut squash tater tots with jalapeno creme, crispy chicken with wilted kale/buttermilk biscuit/sunnyside up egg, and local pumpkin and pear risotto. DIVINE! Seriously one of the best meals since, well, the last time I ate at Lincoln. We will all certainly be back.

Oh how very, very true the following quote is…

FIVE

I am really looking forward to the next couple months with lots of travels coming up! Springtime never seems like it should be so busy, but every year, my schedule is usually jam-packed from March through May (and then the weddings begin in June!). In the next two months, I have trips and vacations planned almost every weekend for Ohio, Chapel Hill, NC, Charlotte, NC, a couple bachelorette parties, Charlottesville, VA, and Richmond, VA – plus Spring Break and a May wedding in Charleston! I’m so thankful that there are so many fun travels and events to look forward to in the coming months. I beam every time I think about all of my family and friends I get to see soon! Where’s your next trip planned?
