I’m just about to celebrate my 4th anniversary of living in DC (!!!), and the breadth of cultural activites in this city still never ceases to amaze me. I love the abundance of things to do in Washington, and I’m forever finding new events and activities to do in and around the city. The Kennedy Center is one of my favorite places to visit, and I’d highly encourage anyone to check out a show there.
Throughout the years, I’ve been able to see The Nutcracker at Christmastime (one of my absolute favorite Christmas traditions!) and a ballet for Ernest Hemingway’s book The Sun Also Rises (a book club selection). I’ve also been to a few free (yes, free!) shows at the Kennedy Center, as the Millennium Stage hosts free shows/concerts/performances every single day at 6:00pm. What an awesome opportunity for everyone – i wish I took advantage of these free performances more often!
