One weekend in August, the stars magically aligned (or, well, our calendars) and we were able to escape to the mountains of North Carolina for a weekend getaway with many of our close friends. Six married couples, four babies/toddlers, and one mountain house = an incredibly relaxing, fun weekend with lots of laughter and new memories!
Here’s a peek at our weekend in the mountains, if you’d like to see…
We ate lots of Mexican food, went star gazing in the middle of nowhere late at night and saw a million stars, rode horses, waded in a mountain stream, ate a picnic lunch, had lots of great conversations, played cards and chess, enjoyed the hot tub on the deck, drank margaritas, played with adorable babies and toddlers, laughed a whole lot, ate a traditional Romanian breakfast, stared endlessly at this stunning vista, and enjoyed the rustic mountain life. It was blissful and happy!
I’m so very grateful for these wonderful people and our friendships with them! And a huge thanks to the Senters for opening up their family home to all of our for the weekend.
…that’s right!!! It’s official, y’all! AH! I am taking this little wedding planning venture of mine FULL TIME, and I’ll also be moving back down South to Raleigh, North Carolina next month!!
Why yes, that’s two huge life changes, and I couldn’t be happier! It’s still surreal that Stephanie Scholl Events is going to be my full-time job & that I’m also moving back to North Carolina!!
I can’t wait to share many, many more details with you as to how this evolved and what is in store. It’s been a long time coming, and I’m giddy to let the cat out of the bag and share this momentous, joyous news of mine with you all. Let’s just say I’m deeply grateful, definitely humbled, oh so excited, filled with happy anticipation, and only a little bit nervous. I can’t wait!!! Thank you, Lord.
Tuesday is my last day at my day job, where I’ve been for the last three years while working late nights + early mornings + weekends on wedding planning & design. After six years in DC, it’s time to head back down South and really get down to business. And it’s only fitting that I’ll kick off my full-time-business-owner-entrepreneur-boss-lady status with a huge wedding in Charlottesville next weekend! I cannot wait for what’s ahead – and to meet so many new friends, brides, and fellow vendors!!
I’m a little late, but I couldn’t forget to share about our wonderful Memorial Day weekend at White Lake in North Carolina! My brother-in-law’s family has a home right on the lake, and they invited us down for the weekend. It was so fun spending ample time with their family and mine, and it was such an amazing and gorgeous weekend.
We didn’t DO much, but it was practically perfect. I didn’t wear shoes from the time I arrived on Friday til I left again on Monday, and I barely changed out of my bathing suit. Now that’s the life! We rode on the boat several times (#happyplace), talked and drank margaritas and read magazines on the dock of the lake, lounged in rafts, played frisbee in the water, played cornhole, grilled plenty and ate endlessly, enjoyed the jet ski, celebrated my parents’ 34th wedding anniversary (!!!), played cornhole, made homemade ice cream and s’mores over the fire, celebrating Memorial Day, and watched some magical sunsets. It was a glorious, family-filled, restful, fun weekend filled with so many of my favorite things! I’m so grateful for time with my family & also with my sister’s in-laws!!
How’d you spend your Memorial weekend? Are you as big of a fan of the lake as I am?!
