Taylor & Gus’ Tented Wedding at the Merrimon Wynne

Taylor & Gus Wedding

I am so very excited to share Taylor and Gus’ wedding day with you! These two lovebirds were married on a beautiful December day, and it was the most unforgettable, joyful, stunning, and love-filled day celebrating Taylor & Gus and their new marriage!

I’m so behind on sharing recent weddings on my blog, but that doesn’t mean I’m not smitten with these two or their wedding any less! Thinking back on their wedding day, as well as looking back at these gorgeous images, fills me with so much happiness. From the moment I first talked with Taylor and Gus til we packed up the last items and turned off the lights after clean-up on their wedding day, it was a true honor and utter pleasure in every way. I am so, so fortunate that all of the couples that I have the privilege of working with have such beautiful, beautiful love stories, and it was so apparent and so obvious that Taylor and Gus were made for one another. They complement each other so well, they are filled with so much thoughtfulness and love, and they bring out the very best in one another – and in all of those around them. They were so grounded in what matters most throughout their engagement, and they wanted the focus of their wedding day to center on their ceremony & vows, celebrating their people well, intentional and personalized details, heartfelt hospitality, jubilant celebration, soaking up every moment of their wedding weekend, and FUN with the people they love the most!

From your invitation suite to your bar menus to all of your design details, thoughtfully keeping things cohesive, seamless, unique, and memorable is a top priority! We adored Taylor & Gus’ envelope liner on their invitation suite (the navy, black, gold, & cream floral was elegant, unexpected perfection!), and I intentionally wove this same pattern into other elements of their wedding day, like the bar menu border, their styling backgrounds, bridesmaid gifts, & more! I’m not sure too many guests noticed but those of us who designed Taylor & Gus’ wedding details & brought it all to life certainly did!

These getting ready moments are always filled with so much anticipation, excitement, and sweet moments, and I love that Taylor and Gus chose to keep their wedding party on the smaller side with siblings and longtime (sometimes lifelong!) friends. This crew was so, so gracious, thoughtful, and fun, and you could tell just how much they all adore Taylor and Gus. And I’ll never not tear up watching my brides put on their wedding gowns with their mothers or during an emotional father-daughter first look or with a wildly heartfelt first look. Witnessing these long-anticipated moments up close is such a privilege and incredibly moving, and there wasn’t a dry eye as Taylor and Gus saw each other for the first time on their wedding day!

Taylor & Gus’s December ceremony took place underneath a gracious clear top tent on the lawn of the Merrimon Wynne, which was the most picturesque setting with the trees and sky visible through the tent, romantic draping, a trio of gold tiered chandeliers adorned with organic greenery perfectly centered above the line of the aisle, two statement asymmetrical columns of lush white flowers and greenery flanking the bride and groom, abundant aisle flowers, and two tall arrangements at the back of the aisle. The design was so elegant, timeless, sophisticated, and chic, and seeing the tent filled with their beloved family and friends was, of course, the very best part!

Taylor and Gus’s officiant was also incredibly special to both of them — the father of Taylor’s childhood best friend and also a relative on Gus’s side of the family! How meaningful and touching was it to be married by someone both the bride and groom had known for almost their entire lives?! I also loved that Taylor and Gus included all of their siblings & their spouses in the processional, along with their combined 14 nieces and nephews. And the ceremony itself was utterly moving and filled with so much emotion, love, and joy. There were so many thoughtful, personalized moments and touches throughout the entire day, and Taylor & Gus’s ceremony was absolutely one of them!

Cocktail hour details that are simultaneously elegant, classic, stunning, and personalized, perfect for Taylor & Gus! I adore how all of these magical details came together for Taylor & Gus’ winter cocktail hour, and they were polished, fresh, and romantic — and the perfect backdrop for all the fun and celebrations for the newlyweds!

Gorgeous best friends, joyful smiles, the prettiest light, beautiful blooms, chic navy gowns & dapper tuxedos, and that wedding day glow… what more could you ask for?! These ladies & gents are the absolute sweetest friends that made Taylor & Gus’ wedding day filled with so much love, fun, and excitement!

What an absolutely incredible, beautiful, joyful, unforgettable day it was as we celebrated Taylor & Gus and their marriage! I am perpetually in awe of the amazing, amazing couples I have the deep honor & privilege of getting to work with, and I couldn’t be more thankful for each of them & how their love inspires me.

Welcome inside Taylor & Gus’ dinnertime soirée! This majestic clear top tent was utterly transformed from their ceremony to their dinner (in 22 minutes of well-oiled organization!), and we welcomed all of their beloved family and friends back into the tent for the most delicious dinner, signature cocktails & tableside wine service, the most touching welcome from the bride & groom themselves, and then toasts that were equally hilarious, heartfelt, and so moving.

I am so, so proud of how their entire wedding design, including their reception tent, came together — and bringing to life to many intentional, romantic, timeless, and stunning details! Their design is filled with such chic sophistication, timeless elegance, and romantic and festive details as a nod to the season. I am utterly enamored with every bit of it, from the clear top tent swathed in lush draping and twinkling lights, the chandeliers and trailing greenery, the breathtaking florals, the glamorous black, cream, & gold details, all of the romantic lighting and candles, and a celebratory, festive ambiance setting the tone for their families and friends.

Taylor and Gus’s reception was so darn fun and filled with so much celebration, laughter, fun, and sweet moments! Every bit of it was incredible, and you could tell at every turn just how beloved these two are – and how much their love their people, too. Dinner and toasts took place in the clear top tent on the lawn before moving inside the carriage house to dance the night away – with wedding cake and late night snacks, of course! I designed the carriage house with a classic black & white checkered dance floor, navy & gold & cream lounges flanking the dance floor, flowers lining the entirety of the band’s stage, a greenery chandelier above the dance floor, their stunning flower-adorned wedding cake, and some beautiful bar details with touches of greenery everywhere. It was magical and such a fun night!!

Taylor and Gus are so deserving of every bit of this love and celebration, and I could not have asked for a more wonderful couple to work alongside. From start to finish, it was a day focused on joy & love, marriage, festivity, celebration, and gathering with their loved ones. These two are something special, and their wedding day reflected that so beautifully! Endless congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Parrish – you two are so, so very loved and celebrated!

Taylor and Gus are the sweetest, most loving couple around, and their wedding day was exquisite, fun, classic, and oh so meaningful, all in one! Truly a dream in every way for the most deserving and wonderful couple — we adore you two!!

As you know, reception reveals are a personal favorite moment of mine on every wedding day! As a planner and designer, I thoughtfully curate and design every single element of a wedding day, making it as personalized, meaningful, and tailored to my couples and what they envision and want. After planning for many, many months, it’s incredibly rewarding for me – and hopefully even more so for my couples! – to see all our hard work, planning, designing, and decision-making turn into THIS. I love, love, love the reaction Taylor (and Gus) had when they walked into the tent to see their reception for the first time (and after a very quick and very seamless flip post-ceremony). Giddy!!! It’s a pinch-me moment for me, and I would imagine it is for my couples, too, since it’s their wedding! Taylor messaged me later, once she saw these photos of the three of us, and said, among many other sweet words, “thank you for sharing in our joy so well!” And it’s so true: your joy is my joy.

A huge, heartfelt thanks to the most talented, hard-working, passionate, dedicated team of creative partners & vendors who brought Taylor and Gus’s wedding to life so perfectly & seamlessly. I am so grateful, and you all are incredible!
